About me

Anyone who meets me knows how passionate I am about food. Coming from a large family, good food always brought us together and ended any arguments once we started eating! My first jobs were at a cake shop and waitressing for silver service events. I always knew I wanted to be a chef and was lucky to train under the Cordon Bleu Chef Jacqueline Naish (née Wise) from when I was 19. It was through Jacqueline I learnt about the world of private dining and did my first independent private chef jobs. I loved the creativity and relationship built with clients, something you don't get when working in a restaurant kitchen when you can't see the people you're serving.

Whilst studying Photography at the University of Brighton I continued part time as a chef and found all my photography work led back to the world of food. I ran a photo project called 'Women Belong in the Kitchen' which highlighted the lack of female chefs in restaurant spaces. Through this I met many women who showed me how setting up their own businesses as freelancers had allowed them the flexibility often missing when working full time in restaurants. Since then, I have accumulated a huge variety of experience freelancing and working in many different types of restaurants and catering companies, to further develop my skills and food knowledge.

Drawing upon my Greek Cypriot heritage, the food I enjoy cooking the most is eastern Mediterranean. I find the food of the region fascinating with its blend of Eastern and Western styles. I love the informality of sharing style dining whilst still providing high quality food and service. I like to use the freshest produce available, often from my mother's allotment. Good quality ingredients are the key to good tasting dishes.

If you're looking for a friendly, experienced private chef who will take the stress out of your evening, check out my menus below and contact Nomad to book.
